Abstract Sacred structures of Hindu and Buddhist heritage utilised for religious rituals and ceremonies in Indonesia are called "candi", a name rarely heard anywhere else outside Indonesia. The names of such sacred stuctures are affiliated to "dwellings of Gods" in India, such as devagrha, devlaya, devatayatanam, vesman, bhavanam, prasadam, sthanam, mandiram. The sacred structures are commonly called "köil" in South India and "prasat" in Cambodia, which derives from the word "prasada".
